We long for recognition and appreciation. We want others to think "highly" (even Praise) of our accomplishments. Pride presents itself as temptations to fulfill this "misguided" desire. James 1:10, "Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation..." Do we want to receive the "Glory" from that which the HOLY SPIRIT endows us in special ways to accomplish? Do we give or "accept" misdirected Praise to the "instruments" of GOD rather than the Living GOD who graciously performs the impossible. What takes more Faith and Humility (and gives GOD HIS GLORY); to say after someone's healing or conversion, OH, I PRAYED FOR YOU; or in the midst of devastation, pain and hopelessness you say, "COME LET'S PRAY"?
