Today is going to be one of those days; I can tell.  It is going to require energy, perseverance and patience.  Where can we get the Spiritual and physical strength?  We get it by sitting at the MASTER'S feet, in meditation, prayer and hearing HIS WORD.  Luke 10:39-42, "...Mary, who sat at the LORD'S feet and listened to HIS teaching..."  Our power comes from the constant renewal of mind, body and Spirit while in communion with HIM.  In my room is a rocking chair where I sit at HIS feet while I rock, talk and listen.  Yes Sir, it's gonna be one of those days, but I am prepared,  because I am TALKIN & ROCKIN WITH JESUS!

If you shoot enough arrows into the sky, sooner or later you may get the point when they come down.  Joshua 24:19, "...you are not able to serve the LORD, for HE is a Holy GOD.  HE is a jealous GOD;..."  I don't want to go before our LORD depending upon my "good deeds" to be sufficient judgment.  This is what Joshua is explaining when he said, "you will be witnesses against yourselves".  Do we "judge" ourselves by our "intentions"; and "judge" others by their actions?  We must know and depend upon the Grace and Mercy of our LORD for Salvation!  We are incapable of pleasing GOD without HIS Devine presence in our lives.  We must make a choice, who do we serve?  Joshua 24: "...choose this day whom you will serve,...But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."  The beautiful thing is, when we repent and ask for forgiveness, we are forgiven by our Loving GOD.  GET THE POINT?

Today is the day for you to receive something very special.  Numbers 6:24-26, "The LORD bless and keep you; the LORD make HIS face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up HIS countenance upon you and give you peace."  All day you are "blessed", which means you are in GOD'S presence; HE is guarding and protecting you in ways you know and don't know.  All day GOD is smiling upon you (can you believe it?) and giving you great "favor" in all things and circumstances (believe it, know it and experience it) that you will encounter. During this day with HIS presence, HIS protection and HIS favor; HE is giving you Peace (not just freedom from anger, worry and the wars within yourself) absolute total "well-being"! NOW YOU ARE SUPERCHARGED! YOU HAVE RECEIVED SOMETHING AND SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL!  SHARE THE BLESSING.

Have you ever thought this world would be better off without you?   Do you feel the darkness is so deep that those around you with “the light” are being contaminated and better off without you?  Do you feel you are hurting, discouraging and completely frustrating those around you?  So, you are going to run away “to protect them”.  The army of sin marching on you does not break rank (the locust metaphor in Joel) and no matter how much you try to resist, the army keeps coming.  The home that was once like a meadow, full of peace and love has been devoured.  FLIP THE SWITCH, GOD restores the wasted years!  Joel 2:25, “I will make up to you the years…” No you can’t make it up to GOD and others; GOD says HE will make it up to you!  Joel 2:26, “…WHO has dealt wondrously with you…” What is the moral of this story?  Running isn’t always bad (when you let those you love know why), you can run from sin and you can run to GOD.  JUST FLIP THE SWITCH. GOD protects us even when we don't know it.  Have you ever just sit in amazement that the wrongs you have done do not bring the consequences you deserve? GOD has a purpose for us to bring HIM Glory and HE will do what ever it takes.  I asked a man once, what he thought about this unexplained mercy.  He smiled and said, "Chill", and know that HE is GOD!  Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am GOD..." GOD is using us in ways we can't understand; just accept it, love it and "CHILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD, AND YOU ARE HIS!

Ephesians 4:27, "...and do not give the devil a foothold." When we are JOYful, Hopeful and Lovefull (full of Love, "an inspired word") it is by CHOICE.  When we are Angry, Depressed and full of Hurt it is by CHOICE.  We Christians have it all wrong, we are constantly on the defense!  "The Lion is constantly prowling",  and "don't let temptation in".  Whatever happened to "sing HIS praises", "dance in HIS presence", and "GOD, I will exalt THEE"?  (I am so full of praise and confidence today, I just want to share you to have it too.) When we are full (overflowing) with the Love (Lovefully) of GOD, there just ain't no room for hate and the evil one.  Today is a day of THANKSGIVING and we choose GOD!  Ain't no room for anger and satan so, "HIT THE ROAD JACK, AND DON'T COME BACK NO MO, NO MO!

Mark 14:36, "...everything is possible for YOU. Take this cup from me.  Yet not what I will, but what YOU will."  When GOD answers NO to our prayers it is because HE loves us so much that HE wants only the best for us.  HE knows what is best, always and in all ways. In this prayer JESUS knows that HIS life must be governed by GOD'S will and not HIS own. Perhaps GOD'S Will is the most misunderstood part of our prayers.  We know HIS will, HE clearly expresses it in the Bible.  But we don't know HIS timing and we don't know all the other things that would be affected if HE simply said yes to our requests.  I believe prayer is to strengthen us.  It is alright to be honest with GOD and ask for relief, as long as we accept that GOD can say no.  When we pray do we wait quietly for HIS answer or are our prayers simply a request and then move on? My prayer for today:  "Our FATHER in Heaven, I want so much to mean the following words.  'Not my will, but your will, be done'. In JESUS name I pray. Amen.

Proverbs 20:29, "The glory of young...is their strength, gray hair is the splendor of the old."  I find as I grow older, I embark on an adventure of self assessment and renewal of my Spirit. My energy is renewed as I discern what is really important, no longer do I indiscriminately use my energy for fruitless endeavors.  I begin to listen to my body, my intuition and my heart as I rely less and less on logic and reason.  When I am confronted with rudeness and gossip I remove myself from the evil it produces and if it persists, I use GOD'S Word and HE removes them from me. Oh, Glory to GOD for HIS Faithfulness and Loving Kindness.  But when I look in the mirror, I like who I see, regardless of age.  For I have a passion which gives limitless energy for what it good and what is beautiful in HIS eyes.  HE destroys the wasted years and renews the beauty of those I love unconditionally.  HE is the power and glory forever.  For now, I am a "walking coupon" (discounts upon discounts) and I remember my purpose each time I hear; SIR, YOU QUALIFY FOR SENIOR COFFEE.

It's an inspiring endless cycle.  To Give Thanks can mean to experience GOD in continuous Spirit of prayer being grateful for HIS blessings and Praising HIM.  These Blessings can be temporal, spiritual or enternal, but usually it is all of the above. To Give Thanks can also mean to share (or to Give) the Blessings we ourselves have received.  We can share the Thankfulness for the knowledge of truth, love and the presence of GOD that we ourselves have received.  The abundance of gratitude comes from our loving obedience in HIS Grace.  Hebrews 13:15, "...let us continually offer to GOD a sacrifice of praise...the fruit of the lips that confesses HIS name..." Let this THANKSGIVING be one of GIVING for what has been GIVEN! GIVE, THANKS, GIVE; IT IS AN INSPIRING ENDLESS CYCLE.

GOD IS GOD!

I feel so safe, snuggled into a warm corner when the wind is whirling and howling.  So safe, that I really don't want to leave.  Outside of my corner I experience misery after misery.  People's quarreling and fighting tires me so much that I feel little fitted to act as a comforter, for I need comfort myself. I have tried to help others to have peace until I am afraid of losing my own. Colossians 3:15-17, "...you were called to peace.  And be thankful..." The Peace of GOD, not the "peace" of indifference.  The Peace of GOD is the settling with finality all questions that arise in our minds.  We can't have Peace of GOD without Peace WITH GOD, that is the only way to live in harmony with GOD, with ourselves and with others. To give thanks as you sing psalms (a song of Christian worship), hymns (a song of praise) and spiritual songs (used for the preservation of GOD'S Word through all generations).  If the wind didn't blow and trials didn't come, I would have never experienced the POWER OF PEACE and I would be afraid to leave my warm corner!
