Luke 4:24, "..Truly I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown." Too much familiarity breeds contempt. JESUS grew up in Nazareth and the town's people viewed HIM as a common person and in their view HE was just to common to have the Divine Power HE was teaching. Here we see their prejudice was an objection and barrier to the humbling of the Cross. The Word of GOD stirs up anger among proud people and they blame that person for the way he lived. They become angry when others have the favor they are neglecting. As for me, when I have known someone and they accept CHRIST, it just reveals the POWER of GOD to see the change in their life. Yes, they continue to make mistakes and sin, but their heart's are revealed in their repentance. Maybe that is why we tend to listen to Evangelists more than those around us because we know nothing about them. Perhaps this is a revelation of why the Prophets were isolated and not really known by the world so GOD'S Word would be known. Is there a Prophet among you? You are HIS Prophet, seek the HONOR OF GOD and not the honor of others! DON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE.
Psalm 139: 23-24 Isaiah 43:1 GOD IS GOD!
