What is Purpose For You?

Do you want to turn that I think so into I know so? You can know for certain! Check this out!! Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.” But the righteousness that is by faith says: Do not say in your heart, "Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?" Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou should say, "Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?. But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart that you should do it,” Now, that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Roman's 10:5-12 (Duetoronomy 30:11-14 ) For more information click HERE. |
The Snake and the Cross
You've heard of John 3:16, but did you know the previous 2 verses.
Jesus Said - "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[John 3:14,15 14 NIV]
The mystery of salvation is in the Cross of our Lord. Not the image we have in our mind, nor the pretty gold ones we wear around our necks, but the intersection of God's grace with Man's Sin. The symbolism (Snake) was not pretty, but the reality (Cross) was down right ugly. Never the less, it was powerfully effective.
The mystery is that by Simply Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we find salvation, just as the people did when bitten by the serpents in the desert, on there way to the Promised Land. Read the story here. Numbers 21:4-9
If you believed enough to look at the snake, you lived. If not, you died. That simple. Do you see what Jesus meant now?.
Look to Jesus and be saved. The historic record of the snakes in the desert is recorded in the Book of Numbers chapter 21.

Does the Bible teach that Jesus is the only way to salvation?
Yes! Jesus said this repeatedly and this follows even Jewish teaching regarding the messiah. There is so much evidence but to keep it brief let's look at a few Old AND New Testament scriptures.
Acts 3:22-23 can also be found in the Old Testament as well, see Deut. 18:15,18,19. For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. [the messiah] Now Jesus was the messiah and others knew it too, but he told them not to tell anyone, since his reign would not occur in the way people expected.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me . John 14:6 (Read the Whole Chapter-->) John 14 Jesus also said in John 8:24 "I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins." (Read the Whole Chapter-->) John 8 On the Day of Pentecost about AD33, When the people had realized from Peter's preaching that they had crucified the Lord, the asked "What shall we do to be saved?" Acts 4:11-13 Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Footnotes: Acts 4:11 Psalm 118:22 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.... For Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. |
