Have you ever wondered about the term "Born Again" What does this really mean?
See and Hear Jesus explain it for the very first time.

More about this and how to accept Jesus as the Messiah or Savior

The term "born again" comes from what Jesus told a religious leader nearly 2000 years ago, "You must be born again".You saw the video above, you can read the whole story in the book of John chapter 3 as well.

Being "saved" means you are no longer under the punishment for your sins because you have accepted his pardon by allowing Jesus to pay the penalty for you.  This is a great deal for you!

This is serious business, however salvation is simple.  You do not have to perform to any human standard.  Let Jesus lead you into His kingdom.

 Here's the issue......

1. God, after creating the world and giving authority and dominion over the earth to the first 2 humans, stated to them that that they had access to everything he had made except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  He said in the day that you eat of it you will surely die. (Genesis  2)
2. Satan lied to the humans and tricked them into eating of it knowing that by doing so, he would be over them, since they obeyed him and disobeyed God. (All humans since then have disobey God as well.  Genesis 3, Romans 3:23)
3. God provided Salvation from the death penalty by coming in human form (Jesus) and dying in our place. (Gen 3, Isaiah 53, Matt 20:17-19, 1 Cor 1:18)
4. Jesus proved he has power over the penalty by rising from the dead. (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
5. He requires only that we simply believe this Message. (I Corinthian 1:21,John 3:16, Mark 8:34-38)
6. Proof that we believe is that we obey the commands Jesus gave. (John 15:10, I John 2:3)
7. Jesus is coming again to judge all humans and the stakes are eternal (1 Peter 4)
8. Jesus said that he is the only way to salvation and that no one comes to the Father except through Him.  John 14:6 (click to see it in context). Remember, this is not the saying of any ordinary man.  This is the man who raised the dead and split time from B.C to A.D.  Every time you say the year 2011 you are confessing that you have knowledge of his existence.
9. The question is, are you willing to receive His message by faith or reject it as non-sense.  The choice is yours...

Life through the Spirit

Picture
Today I was meditating on Galations 6:8

God reminded me of our current state, that is our physical bodies, and He reminded me as I looked at my reflection in a glass pane, that what I was seeing is headed toward the grave.  In fact gravity is pulling at me continually to bring me back to where I came from, that is the earth.   So I saw how foolish it is to spend any time at all trying to please the flesh because it is headed for death anyhow.  Then he showed me how wise it is to feed the Spirit which leads to life and godliness, which is profitable in all things, both now and in the great beyond.

So then, Lisa and I would like to remind you to keep in step with the Spirit and go for the life God has called us to. Let us follow the example of our great leader, the Lord Jesus himself.

May the peace of God reign in you today.

Galatians 6:8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

A New Covenant for my people Israel

Picture

"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant* with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.  It will NOT be like the covenant I made with their forefathers ......"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
Jeremiah 31:31-33

I think so?

Do you want to turn that I think so
into

I know so?

You can know for certain!  Check this out!!

Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.” But the righteousness that is by faith says: Do not say in your heart, "Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?" Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou should say, "Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?. But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart that you should do it,”

Now, that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Roman's 10:5-12 (Duetoronomy 30:11-14 )

The Snake and the Cross

Picture

You've heard of John 3:16, but did you know the previous 2 verses.

Jesus Said - "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[John 3:14,15 14 NIV]
The mystery of salvation is in the Cross of our Lord.  Not the image we have in our mind, nor the pretty gold ones we wear around our necks, but the intersection of God's grace with Man's Sin.  The symbolism (Snake) was not pretty, but the reality (Cross) was down right ugly. Never the less, it was powerfully effective.

The mystery is that by Simply Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we find salvation, just as the people did when bitten by the serpents in the desert, on there way to the Promised Land.   Read the story here. Numbers 21:4-9

If you believed enough to look at the snake, you lived.  If not, you died.  That simple.  Do you see what Jesus meant now?.
Look to Jesus and be saved.  The historic record of the snakes in the desert is recorded in the Book of Numbers chapter 21.

Frustrated with Finances.  Does the Bible hold the key ?

Maybe It's NOT about the money at all...

Declaring the Message unashamedly!

Do you sometimes shrink back from telling others the good news about our Savior?

We encourage you to just go.  If you think you lack confidence or  ability, then you are thinking too much.  Share Jesus in the way you know how.  Pray and ask God to give you the opportunity.   Then wait for the right moment.   It will not delay.  Then speak the truth in love with great humility.  Be willing to serve them if you can, just as our Lord exampled.  In this way you will win the hearts of those God has lead you to.

You can also point them to this site for more information.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Romans 1:16

Pocket Testament League
One great organization that  we have partnered with has a great way to share the gospel by giving out the Gospel of John.  As you may know, the story of Jesus from the beloved disciple is one of the most powerful testimonies of Christ.  You can sign up and get low cost or even free Gospels if you will commit to prayerfully giving them away to those who will receive it.

Does the Bible teach that Jesus is the only way to salvation?

Yes! Jesus said this repeatedly and this follows even Jewish teaching regarding the messiah.  There is so much evidence but to keep it brief let's look at a few Old AND New Testament scriptures.

Acts 3:22-23 can also be found in the Old Testament as well, see Deut. 18:15,18,19.

For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. [the messiah]

Now Jesus was the messiah and others knew it too, but he told them not to tell anyone, since his reign would not occur in the way people expected.

  1. Matthew 16:13
[ Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah ] When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
Matthew 16:12-14 (in Context) Matthew 16 (Whole Chapter)
  2. Matthew 16:16
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16:15-17 (in Context) Matthew 16 (Whole Chapter)
  3. Matthew 16:20
Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
Matthew 16:19-21 (in Context) Matthew 16 (Whole Chapter)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me   .  John 14:6  (Read the Whole Chapter-->) John 14

Jesus also said in John 8:24
"I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins." (Read the Whole Chapter-->) John 8

On the Day of Pentecost about AD33, When the people had realized from Peter's preaching that they had crucified the Lord, the asked "What shall we do to be saved?"

Acts 4:11-13
Jesus is  “‘the stone you builders rejected,  which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.  Footnotes:  Acts 4:11 Psalm 118:22

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.... For Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
