Are you Saved?
|
The term "born again" comes from what Jesus told a religious leader nearly 2000 years ago, "Unless a man is born again, He cannot see the Kingdom of God". You can read the whole story in the book of John Chapter 3.
Being "saved" means you are no longer under the punishment for your sins because you have accepted his pardon by allowing Jesus to pay the penalty for you. This is a great deal for you! The questions, do you really believe it? If not, do not continue past this point. If you do not believe you are a sinner in need of a savior, stop right here and continue from here when you get that revelation. If you don't want to understand, just leave the page now, but if you truly do want to understand how to get right with God but need some help understanding why you need to do that, please listen to this video. |
So you're a nice person, huh? You think you don't need salvation? Think again.

Are you convinced you need a savior now?
Let Jesus lead you into His kingdom.
Let Jesus lead you into His kingdom.
Here it is! You can find all of these in the Bible and we believe it is the very truth of God, and not the invention of any man.
- Spiritual and physical death are the penalty for sin. (Genesis 2)
- Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God. All humans descended from Adam have inherited a sin gene (if you will) and therefore we need no instruction to sin, it's natural, yet with grave consequences. (Genesis 3, Romans 3:23)
- Therefore, God provided Salvation from the penalty by coming in human form and dying in our place (the only legal way to save us because; since sin came by man, only a man could restore righteousness, thus the God-Man, Jesus came for this sole purpose). Isaiah 53, Matt 20:17-19, 1 Cor 1:18)
- Jesus proved he has power over the penalty by rising from the dead. (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
- God requires ONLY that we simply believe this Message. (I Corinthian 1:21,John 3:16, Mark 8:34-38)
- Proof that we believe is our true confession that Jesus indeed is Lord (meaning we relinquish our own lordship over our lives), being born again all things become new. (Romans 10:8-10, John 15:10, I John 2:3)
- Jesus is coming again to judge all humans and the stakes are eternal (1 Peter 4)
Okay, I believe this; So how do I get started?
The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Your salvation begins when you believe in your heart and is completed by the confession of your mouth. Romans 10:8-9. You can start with this simple prayer below if you truly believe that Jesus loves you and died for your sins.

2. Tell someone today that you committed your life to Christ, do not be ashamed of Him.
This is the confession of your faith. You truly believed so you will want to share this good news. Tell someone today! Do not necessarily expect a positive reaction from everyone but remember those people will not be with you when you stand before God. Those true friends and loving family will support your decision. The reason we can say this with confidence is because you have been born into a new family, that is the church.
3. Get into a good "Bible Compliant" church. We can recommend one if you send us a message from the contact page.
4. Pray and seek the Lord in prayer and devotion in the Word of God.
The Lord himself will lead you into all truth by his Holy Spirit and will show you each day how to walk in obedience. He will direct your steps. You will learn about baptism and the other things Jesus commanded such as loving your enemies. You will begin to obey a step at a time until you finally reach maturity in the faith, this is the work of God and not man.
Bible Compliant simply means a church that relies on the authority of the Bible for all doctrine, teaching and operation of the church. The Bible is the common play-book that all Christians espouse to live by.

Okay, I did all of those things.
Now what? You are a new born baby Christian.
Babies NEED the sincere milk of the Word (BIBLE = Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) You must talk to Jesus every day through prayer. In fact pray as much as possible throughout the day; but your prayers should be conversations like you would have with a friend that you deeply respect. You must be in the Bible daily and in church weekly minimum (again, it must be a Bible teaching church, many churches have become so entrenched in their own traditions that they have become powerless to help you, you must get back to the foundation of simple faith in Jesus and what he did). We suggest you get a bible and read the following 3 books immediately; John, Acts and Romans. These three books are found in the New Testament and are right in a row, one after the other. They will provide you with everything you need to get started in your new life. But this is just a start, not the end, there is so much more. Ask the Holy Spirit of Jesus to come into your life to guide you into all truth. Ask the LORD to direct you to a bible believing church near you. Keep reading, praying and sharing your faith with those in and outside the church. You will begin to see God leading you into deeper and deeper truth. God will show you the other steps to take to sure up your foundation and make certain that you are indeed in the faith. You now have the Greatest Power in the universe to help you with everything in life that you may come up against. You are in good hands now! |
What about Water Baptism?
We at PFY believe you should get water baptized as a way to confirm your faith in Jesus. Get real with it. Make a public statement of faith regardless of the cost.
Although we believe that salvation is by grace, through faith and that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the a greater baptism and an obvious evidence of salvation, we also see in the book of Acts that even those that had this great power still were water baptized. Therefore we highly recommend you get baptized as soon as possible to make a public confession of your faith in Jesus. If you are truly saved, we at PFY believe that you will want to demonstrate publicly your devotion to him. What better way to be a witness for Christ. To receive Christ with words, but be unwilling to be baptized is like being willing to get married but unwilling to have a public wedding ceremony. See below the great commission. Also read the book of Acts to see the use of baptism in the earliest churches. It was done even after people confessed their faith in Christ and even after they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Obviously if you have the baptism of the Holy Spirit you are saved, but still the apostles baptized them in water. |
In the case below you see people were even rebaptized even though they had accepted the message of Christ's coming through John the baptist and where already baptized just like Jesus
Acts 19:4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. There were about twelve men in all.
It is obvious however that a person may receive Christ just before death and may not have opportunity and we believe that God will receive the one that calls him in this dire state. Others, that have opportunity, should not be presumptuous and truly seek God before assuming that baptism is not for them. In the end, each person must decide for themselves. We know that the Grace of God is big and he looks upon the heart. Let us just make sure our hearts are right before him and not just too proud or have other heart issues that are keeping us from full obedience. Each one is accountable to what they know and the level of faith they have been given. In the end each person should be fully convinced in his own heart.

Why is Purpose-For-You doing this?
Jesus Final command before he returned to heaven from which he came is stated in the book of Matthew and is known as The Great Commission.
It is found in the book of Matthew Chapter 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” * Note: Baptism in the name of Jesus is also mentioned in the book of Acts. This is the same thing. |
"I am the way, the truth and the life. No Man comes to the Father, but by me" —Jesus (Quote from the book of John 14:6)
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Apostle Peter
