Dan who is homeless with his wife testified that he was thankful last week for some trees they found that they could sleep under because the previous few nights they were behind a dumpster sleeping. This man and his wife brought themselves into the presence of the Lord and changed their lives shortly after this revelation of thanksgiving!

I Thess 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

11/4/11

Today was a great day for us. First we got up and thanked God for letting us wake up to see another beautiful day. We then met with Lisa, Julie, Rick, and Kathy for prayer and bible study. Lisa was very disappointed with us because we didn't finish reading the book fo Revelations, we felt really bad, but I guess this is no excuse because we hadn't slept in three days so we were really exhausted.
After Lisa and Julie left, Dan and I went back to our room and finished reading Revelations. We then ventured off to the hospital to check out my infected feet. This took about four hours including the trip there and back. The doctor checked out my feet and told me that they weren't bad at all, and to keep them dry and change my socks at least twice a day.
When we were through at the doctor's, we came back to our room to rest up for a bit. Then off to the library. I went on line but didn't get very much information because you can only have one hour on the computer. After the library we found four people that we know and wanted to say a blessing. Bob, Red, Rodney, and Brian. Bob has family, but they don't get along, he's been on the streets for three years. Red didn't want to tell us his stoery. Rodney was given a house by the church that he attented. He started to have too much company, so the church took back the house. Brian was in South Oakland Shelter with us, when his time was up, he had no where to go. We called three friends on the phone to say a blessing because they live in Royal Oak. David Hilbold, he had a lot of money at one time, but he said he blew it all on nothing good. Kathy Ford, she has a mental illness, she has children, but they don't want to have any thing to do with her. Billy Wumbel, we took him in when had our apartment, but Billy has an alcohol problem.
I thought that meeting Lisa was just a coincidence, but I learned that it wasn't, we were meant to meet. On Thursday morning I asked God where were going to lay our heads tonight, and there was Lisa, through God and Lisa, we had a safe warm place to stay. My husband and I just want to turn our lives around so bad, we just needed someone to manage our lives because obviously we can't. Now we have Lisa, our manager.
Now Dan and I are going to start reading the book of John and wait for Lisa's call, so I can proudly tell her "were done".

11/7/11
In October of this year, I was at Salvation Army/Matts, I met this young lady named Lori S. She, I and Dan started talking about what we were going through on the streets. Today 11/7 I got a chance to interview Lori. Here's her story: Lori has been homeless since 2005. A few years before she had a two bed room house on 9 mile and Ryan where she and her son resided.
Lori enjoyed her house, she liked the fact of calling it her own. Then one day out of the blue, the landlord told her that she had to leave. He sold the house without telling her. She had a few days to vacate. She asked herself now what do I do, where do I go?

She gathered up what she could leaving everythig else behind.
She moved into her car with her son gathering bottles and cans for food and gas. She said everywhere she parked, the police made her move. this went on for six months. She the moved in with a couple of friends, well she thought they were. They also asked her to leave. There were not fights, no arguments, and no explanation. Lori was back in her again. After another
six months, She moved in with her sister and nephew. After a year Lori's sister became very ill and had to be put into a hospital, Lori's nephew was taken away by the state. Lori could not take care of a house nor her own son, so she sent him out state to a realative that wanted to do with her.
She later met a man that helped her to get a truck so she could sell scrap, but the rruck broke down and that ended that. To this day, Lori is still living in her car. She says it's cold all the time and she feels like giving up. Lori has serious health problems. She has a bad back, arthritus, and now she has to do self-catherization which she says is hard to do in a car, now I found that she has an upper respiratory problem. After the interview, I asked Lori what impact do me and my husband have on her life. She said that it was just somethig about us that mayed her want to to talk to us.
She wonders how can we be so strong in a situation like this and wishes she could be as strong as us. I then said a prayer for Lori. I asked God to give her strength and encouragement to keep going, don't let her give up. Please God take away her pain so that she may live a happy and healthy life and be able to enjoy life, and God please get her out of that car and into a house where she is safe, warm, and can call it home. After the prayer, Lori cried, and I cried with her, she said that the prayer really touched her heart and that no one has ever prayed like that for her. It mayedme feel so good inside to know that I had touched someone's heart. I want to continue in quest to pray for people and bring the Lord into their lives. I won't stop until everyone gives their lives to God.

Rick P. is 41 years old, he has been working since he was 15. Last June he was evicted from his apartment because his unemployement ran out. His wife gets disability but their only able to pay a portion of the rent so he's on the streets for a week to ten days until the disability check comes in.
Rick told me that he met Lisa and Phil one day when he and his wife were going to bed down for the night behind a generator. Lisa noticed that they were trying to avoid her, because they were holding their heads down, Lisa asked if they needed a ride. Thet took the ride, they were taken out to dinner. Rick said that Kathy, his wife was always a believer in God, but he always blamed God for everything that went wrong in his life, He told me Lisa could sense right away that he was involved in witch craft. This really shocked him since Lisa had only known him for 20 minutes and that this was true.
Lisa and Phil talked to Rick about turning his life around. Rick was afraid because he felt if he turned his life around, something evil would happen to him. Lisa and Phil gave him a lot of reading material about God. Not only did this start to put back his faith in God, but he saw a miracle happen. After Lisa and Phil dropped them off at the park, Lisa prayed that they would not get rained on that night.
The next day when they woke up, Rick didn't know that it rained that night because they were dry as a bone. That same day they were safe and warm in a room and a roof over their heads. Is that a miracle or what? Praise the Lord. God is so good to us.

I am a recovering addict that just got tired of robbing and stealing to support my habbit. I was homeless for over 8 years walking one foot in front of the other with no destination.
Growing up as a child i always felt less than i wanted to be like my father. I always heard him joke about the people that went to church and talked about god. So because i was so desperate for his attention and his love i took on his concept most of my life. I didn't wanna be a failure in his eyes. This was engrained in me and i spent most of my life not believing in anything and left me wondering about life.
I never did good in school because i couldn't comprehend what i was reading and i just wasn't willing to learn anything. And that made me feel less than. All i wanted was acceptance from my peiarse in school so I sought thier acceptance by any means i could. And that got me in trouble in school and outside school. It led me to a life of drugs and alcohol because they helped me feel comfortable with who i was and gave me courage to be who i wanted to be.
I finally got tired of the pain when i reached the age of 34. After 15 trips to rehabs and metal hospitals i took a suggestion from a man that changed my life. This man came in to the treatment center and gave his story and it fit mine to a T. So i asked him what he did. He told me to get on my knees in the chaple and ask "who ever was up there" to relieve me of my will so that i may better live by his will. So i did it. It was very humbling to me. But when i did this i had an overwhelming feeling inside me that brought me to tears. I had to run to the bathroom because i didnt want to be seen crying. That was the best feeling i have ever had.
For the rest of my time there i continued asking god to releive me of my will and show me his. When i got out of treatment i slipped the same day. And wouldnt you know god put me in jail for six months before i got too bad again.
In January of 2010 i went to that same treatment center again and started praying for his will. I asked everyday to be teachable, honest, and humble. But i didnt see any of it happen. But 1 week before i was to be released another man came in to the same center and he offered me a place to go when i got out. I called him before i got out and met up with him. We stayed in a hotel for a while ,volunteered at churches and went to 12 step meetings. I couldn't see how all this was gonna keep me off drugs at the time. As time went on i was reminded to keep praying.
Then six months passed and i started to see the results. For the first time i was able to comprehend what i was reading and i began to learn. God answered my prayers.I asked for teachability, and honesty. And to be humble. he gave it to me in his time.
As i started to see the results of my prayers i began to believe more. So i started praying to be able to help others. And let me tell you... There is no better high than to be helping others still suffering. I am doing god's will.
Now in march 2011 my father died of cancer.I beleive about the time i found god he started believing and showing it. When he died he was a believer and i believe he went to heaven. And that is a true miracle to me.
Today i try to do the next right thing, help others, and pray to god that he help me become the man he wants me to be. And majicly the days pass with out me putting that poison back in my body. And today i am not feeling alone or less than anyone and I have a support system where i believe god shows up through others words and wisdom and this just helps me to grow spiritually.
I wanna thank God for putting these people in my life and Purpose For You for the help they gave me when i was in so much need of it. It was them who took me in when i got out of treatment and kept me busy as well as praying everyday. It was them who helped me to develope a relationship with god.And it was them who got me to go back to the treatment center i was at a do what someone did for me. I truly believe they are doing the lords work.
TO THOSE SUFFERING IN THE MADNESS!!
IF there is anyone out there reading this that feels like they are different then everyone else and thinks there is something wrong with them or feels something missing inside; You are not alone there is alot of us out there that you can relate to. If you do not believe in a god or are not sure what you believe and you have had enough pain and loneliness what is it gonna hurt to ask someone you can't even see for help? Be patient and humble and time will pass and the miricles will reveal themselves before you know it. GOD is waiting for us all to put out our hands to him and ask for help.
I tried everything else and this is the only way i found that has even come close to working in my life.It just may work for you too.

My name is Diana G, and I would like to share my story. I'm originally from New Orleans, LA, I came to Michigan in 1990. I attended Detroit College of Business and graduated in 1995. I got married in 95. I have 4 beautiful kids. While attending college and working part-time, I discovered that my now ex-husband was abusing my kids. I put him out and divorced him in 97.
This is where it all begins. Even though I was receiving ADC, I could'nt afford to keep up with the bills, so I lost my house and everything in it. Here I am in 98 on the streets with four kids, ranging from ages 15-4. We went from place to place trying to stay safe and away from the police. Whenever I got an ADC check, I would take my kids to a motel. After a week and a half, we are on the streets again. Finally after two years of dragging my kids around, I brought my youngest son now six to live with his father until I can get on my feet. That was no way for kids to live, but I had no choice.
One day, I came to my motel room after work and written on the mirror in lipstick was "social services has your kids". You see that day, my daugther went to school and tolda counselor that we did'nt have any clothes or food social services took her work for it. Now the court battle for fighting for my kids. it's 1999, I still in the motel however, I found a job where I met my husband to be, Dan. We dated from 2002 to 2003, the year we were married. That was the happiest day of my life inspite my court battel, I had to move on.
I finally saw my kids again in 2004 in court, we exchanged X-mas gifts. My
husband and I had a beautiful apt and a nice car with no kids to enjoy it with. I was told by the courts that I could never ever see my kids again, I didn't give up hope, I prayed to God every night. In 2005 after 12 years of employment, my husband lost his job, we were able to maintain until I lost my job in 2007, once again I lost every thing. We started moving around from motel to motel. One motel we were in, we were $80 short of paying the rent, even though we cleared it with the owner, the manager put us out the day after Thanksgiving stating that we owed $360.
Here we are in the cold, snow, rain, my husband's feet we so infected that I forced him to go to the hospital. The doctor told him that if he would have waited two more days, both his feet would have to be amputated. We spent four days in the hospital. After the four days, we went to a day warming center sleeping at different churches every night.
After a week at the warming center, I made a call to the motel where we were staying to see if I had any mail, and the owner wanted to know why we left, and we told him what happened, and he offered us a job as managers of the motel. We worked there for a year, then Satan stepped in,There was a young lady staying there and she offered us a job stating that we could make more money with her than at the motel, so we went for it, moving all of our belongings to her place in Detroit. All she was about was stealing merchandise from big department stores and wanted Dan and I to exchange it for gift cards, so she could sell those to support her crack habit.
After two weeks of this, we had enough so we left at 2 in the morning and walked from Detroit to Royal Oak. After a year of being on the streets, we finally got an apartment through South Oakland Shelter. We moved into our apt. on Dec. 3rd 2010, we were there until Sept. 1st because funding ran out. We're back on the streets trying to stay safe and warm living behind dumpters, under trees, cold and wet. One day after sleeping under a tree, I sat down and I asked God where are we going to lay our heads tonight?
That same day we ran into Lisa by fate. Lisa is helping us to turn our lives around and give our lives totally to God. Well it's working because if we didn't believe in miracles before, we do now because God is opening so many doors for us. We know in our hearts that God will provide for us. God and Lisa, we love you and believe in you. If any one is reading this I want you to pray for Diana and Dan, Lisa and Phil, and Kathy and Rick. Watch what kind of blessings you will receive in return. May God bless you.
