COMING UNDER AUTHORITY

A few years ago I had just read this Scripture; Romans 13:2, "...whoever resists the authorities resists what GOD has appointed..." Then I was driving and turned right on red. That's legal right? Not if a sign says not to! I completed my turn and immediately a policeman pulled me over. Not just any policeman, a BBIIIIIGGG stern policeman. He asked if I didn't see the sign? I told him I did not see it but I was more disappointed in myself for not coming under authority. He leaned down and said, "looks like we may be on the same side". Then he said, "are you familiar with Proverbs where it says ..if it is within your power to act you are to do so..."? Well, it's within my power not to write you a ticket. You might want to remember this next time you are driving and the speed limit is 70 and you want to go 80 when no police are around. Who you are alone with GOD is who you are.
